**Classic Vanilla Custard**  

**Ingredients:**  

- 2 cups (500ml) whole milk  

- 4 egg yolks  

- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar  

- 2 tbsp cornstarch (for thicker custard)  

- 1 tsp vanilla extract  

- Pinch of salt  

 **:Instructions**

1. **Heat the Milk** – In a saucepan, warm the milk over medium heat until it starts to steam (but not boil).  

2. **Whisk the Yolks** – In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks, sugar, cornstarch, and salt until smooth.  

3. **Temper the Eggs** – Slowly pour a little warm milk into the egg mixture while whisking to prevent curdling.

4. **Cook the Custard** – Pour the mixture back into the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens (about 5 minutes).  

5. **Add Vanilla** – Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.  

6. **Cool & Serve** – Strain the custard through a sieve for a smoother texture. Serve warm or c
